This is Visalia's 4th homicide so far this year. Officers are looking into whether this latest killing was gang-related.
Officers said they didn't put the school on lockdown because students are already out of class for the day.
Sgt. Steve Phillips said, "It doesn't matter where the shooting happens at it's pretty scary. Not only is school getting out but there's a lot of vehicles in the area so it's a very dangerous situation."
Visalia Police have three people in custody in relation to this crime. They said they aren't looking for anyone else but are asking anyone with information to call them immediately.
There was at least one other person in the car with the driver at the time of the shooting.
