Delta water pumps shut down, again

FRESNO, Calif. A federal judge denied a request, yesterday, to suspend a management plan -- aimed at protecting migrating fish.

It's a big setback for the Westlands Water District.

"It's extremely troubling. We are very disappointed we are going to have again extreme restrictions on the pumping capabilities on the federal and state pumps, and so it means restrictions on water deliveries," said Sarah Woolf with the Westlands Water District

Westlands spokeswoman Sarah Woolf says the ruling only affects one aspect of a fish protection plan. Another court hearing aimed at overturning the whole plan gets underway today in federal court.
