More than 100 artists are participating in this year's event which also includes professional seminars and contests. And with each design comes a personal story.
"Tattooing is all about self expression to me. I believe carrying art on your skin is a very strong thing for somebody to do. It takes a very strong person to carry art on your skin and its self expression of who you are," Amber Davis said.
For the second year the show will also crown a beauty queen called the Tattoo Queen of the San Joaquin. The convention continued Sunday.
