Locks of Love

MADERA, Calif. Dozens of girls proudly displayed their new looks after their ponytails were cut off yesterday. The hair will be used to help make wigs for children who have lost their hair to cancer or because of other medical reasons.

Tammy Camacho and two of her daughters who attend the school helped organize the hair cutting. "And because St. Joachim is such a family oriented school, my girls and I decided to challenge the other girls at the school to donate their hair to Locks of Love."

There was an overwhelming response from people who wanted to help out. Tammy says she plans to make it an annual event and girls are already starting to grow their hair for next year.
