The event was free and is a spinoff from the success of "Boot Camp for New Dads" which has been around for 5 years.
"This is a new program, first of its kind in our area and also this is a new national program so we're kind of on the forefront of getting this program kicked off," said Rashanna Johnson with Merced County Human Services.
The boot camps consist of a three hour workshop hosted by moms who have already faced the challenges of motherhood.
