According to Fresno Police Lt. Gregg Sanders, the fight started after the customers argued with each other over the price of a sandwich.

"A Hispanic gentleman walked in and asked for a three dollar sandwich. One of the victims told him Subway does not have three dollar sandwiches. An argument ensued." Sanders said.

Sanders said the man who issued the challenge over the price of a sandwich, left the restaurant, and drove away. But the "Hispanic Gentleman" who wanted a three dollar sandwich and his two accomplices followed.

About a mile away they forced his car off the road. They pulled him and his companion out of the vehicle. One was stabbed and the other was beaten with a baseball bat. Both men were taken to a local hospital. Police say their injuries are not life threatening.

Police were collecting evidence at the sandwich shop late into the night Tuesday. They are also studying a surveillance tape from inside the shop.

The three suspects were last seen in a blue mini-van.
