FRESNO, California The 1% cut represents the amount of money the district is asking employees to take in the form of two furlough days a year.

Fresno Unified Superintendent, Michael Hanson said, "There is pain across every unit and every employed group in every section of the district."

Fresno Unified is waiting to see if any additional cuts for this year's 2010 -2011 school year will be needed because of the governor's May revised budget which is scheduled to be released on Friday.
