21 arrested in Fresno domestic violence sweep

FRESNO, Calif. Officers partnered with several other law enforcement groups Wednesday to search 55 homes of those who have been violent at home in the past.

They found several knives at one home and arrested nearly two dozen people, including ten gang members.

Fresno Police Deputy Chief Keith Foster said, "21 suspects who were arrested should not have the opportunity to terrorize the victims and children anytime soon."

Police hope the operation encourages victims of domestic violence to get out of abusive relationships.

Officers reminded the public, children who see this abuse are likely to continue the cycle later in life.
