Climber rescued after fall in Yosemite's El Capitan

FRESNO, Calif. Rescuers say the 48-year-old climber lost consciousness after he fell about 65-feet and received head and chest injuries. Another person on the climb provided basic emergency aid until park rangers arrived.

The man fell at a prominent feature on the route -- known as the "El Cap Spire", -- approximately 16-hundred feet above Yosemite Valley.

He was then airlifted to a Modesto hospital.
