It happened just after midnight at the Stonybrook Apartments on Balch and Winery in Southeast Fresno.
Fresno Police responded to a call for shots fired and when they arrived on scene they found a man in his 20's suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. At the same time police found two people running away from the scene -- one on foot and the other in a car.
The driver in the car didn't get too far. He went down a nearby embankment ending up at the bottom of Highway 180.
Police were able to capture the driver as well as the man who ran away on foot. Both are now being questioned in the shooting.
The victim is at Community Regional Medical Center in Downtown Fresno in serious condition.
