iPad scam pulled on Fresno couple

FRESNO, Calif.

Police say the two suspects approached the victim at the Clovis Wal-Mart ... wearing name tags and claiming to be employees of an electronics distributor.

They offered to sell her two iPads and an Apple MacBook laptop computer. She later met the men at Panda Express in Southwest Fresno and made the exchange for $545.00.

Police say the boxes had Apple logos and were shrink-wrapped. But caution -- if a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Lt. Anthony Martinez said, "You're going to be offered something that everyone else is standing in line for ... they're going to find victims, and we want to get that cut off."

Fresno Police are working with investigators in Clovis. If you have any information on this scam, you're asked to contact authorities.
