45-year-old Wesley Alexander faces numerous charges after California Highway Patrol Officers managed to pull over the bus -- off of Highway 99 near Avenue 280 in Tulare County Thursday night.

Investigators say Alexander forced the bus to swerve when he grabbed the steering column. Nearly two dozen passengers were on board at the time. The bus was four hours late arriving in Fresno. The delay was agonizing for worried relatives.

"My son was one seat away ... apparently the guy was reaching over the rail toward the driver."

Tulare County Sheriff's Deputies will not say whether Alexander was under the influence of any drugs or alcohol during the frightening incident. No one was hurt. The bus driver and passengers said they were shaken by the unexpected events.
