The calls are in addition to home visits and are meant to clarify or verify information on returned census forms.
The Census Bureau says the calls will not include questions about your social security number, banking information, or citizenship status.
You will be given a case number at the end of the phone call.
You can use that number to confirm that the call you receive in actually from the Census Bureau. You can check it on the Census website.
