Fresno Police open fire on carjacking suspect

FRESNO, Calif.

Fresno Police say just after 10 p.m. Thursday night they got called to Shaw and Maple near Fresno State for a report of a carjacking. A woman told officers a man with a gun demanded her car and her cell phone.

About two hours later officers found the victim's car at an apartment complex on Olive and Peach in East Central Fresno.

Officers say they staked out the car waiting for the man to come back. When he did, they approached him. Officers say that's when the man took out a gun.

A Fresno Police officer fired his gun at the man, but he ran off. It's not known if he got hit or not and Police are still looking for the man this morning.
