The crash happened Monday afternoon at Olive Avenue and Golden State Boulevard.
Officers say a compact car turned into the path of the semi truck. The car was crushed and dragged through the intersection. A second person in the car was also seriously injured and taken to the hospital.
After hitting the car, the truck smashed into a utility pole causing a power line to fall across the railroad tracks. The driver of the truck was not hurt.
