Violent home invasion robbery in Visalia

FRESNO, Calif.

Police say after forcing their way inside, the suspects ransacked the home, controlling the victims at gunpoint. "They went through several of the bedrooms, overturned some items, looked through some drawers ... basically, they went through the whole house," said Visalia Police Sergeant Jeff McIntosh.

Police said the suspects were in their 20's and 30's and were not wearing masks. The suspects left with cash and jewelry. Police don't yet know if it was a targeted or random attack but said it appears the family didn't know the suspects.

Throughout the neighborhood, neighbors expressed shock. "This is a quiet neighborhood. The most noise that's happened was on the Fourth of July, when people were setting off fireworks in the middle of the street," said Spencer Rich.

It's unknown how the suspects got away and police don't have any leads on a suspect vehicle.
