Suburban Detroit police officer shot and killed

TAYLOR Public Service Officer T. Yesta tells The Associated Press the officer died Friday morning.

Both unidentified shooting victims were taken to a hospital. The condition of the second victim has not been disclosed.

Thirty-eight-year-old Arthur White said his 18-year-old son was awakened by what he thought were fireworks, but later learned was gunfire. White said the complex is a rough area where drugs and teenage delinquency are common.

No further details have been released.

An investigation is ongoing.
