Charlie Sheen pleads guilty in assault case

ASPEN, Colo. One of /*Sheen*/'s attorneys said that the actor agreed to plead guilty to misdemeanor assault in exchange for prosecutors dropping more serious charges.

The agreement requires Sheen to serve 30 days in jail. He was previously scheduled to plead guilty at a hearing in June, but that fell through after a disagreement over terms of a proposed work release program.

Sheen is charged with felony menacing, criminal mischief and assault against his wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen.

Sheen was sentenced to 30 days in a California rehabiliatation center, 30 days of probation and 36 hours of anger management.
