The State Supreme Court ruled Wednesday, furloughs can resume while it reviews whether the governor has authority to require unpaid days off for state employees.
The court is scheduled to hear arguments on the matter starting on September 8th. The furlough order applies to the second, third and fourth Fridays of the month and affects nearly 150,000 state workers.
The governor is calling for the furloughs while lawmakers are in a budget statement.
