New Crimewatch site unveiled in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif.

Mayor Ashley Swearengin and Police Chief Jerry Dyer announced details of 'Fresno Crime Watch' at an afternoon news conference.

By visiting the new Crimewatch site, residents can see what kinds of crimes are going on in their neighborhoods and throughout the city. The system also has an iPhone app.

Monday night Action News took Crimewatch on the road to a neighborhood in Northeast Fresno, and many residents said they were surprised about the kinds of crime happening where they live.

The crime watch website also offers videos with crime prevention tips and information on how to set up a neighborhood watch in your area.
