Investigators say a 15-year-old and his friend heard gunshots while they were walking in the area of Fountain and Pleasant in Central Fresno around 6:30 Monday night.
The teen realized he had been shot and ran home to call for help. An ambulance rushed him to Community Regional Medical Center. Police say his injuries are not life-threatening. But they are baffled about this crime because they don't know where the bullets came from.
Lt. Anthony Martinez said, "We have no details of any kind of a confrontation or something that the victim might have done, but that's what's given us some extra concern."
Police spent the evening talking with people in the area to try and figure out who fired the shots. Investigators also plan to question the victim once he recovers.
