Police believe LA murder suspect may be in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif.

The victim, Sherree Osmanhodic's was found dead inside her North Hollywood apartment two months ago. Her fiancé came home to find their apartment on fire and a strange man inside. He chased the man for several blocks but the man got away.

Yesterday, police finally identified the man as 34-year-old Omar Armando Luera. He also goes by the name of Taz and Arturo Benitez.

"He's wanted right now on a violation of parole for the department of corrections. They have been actively seeking him as we are seeking him now," said Lt. Alan Hamilton with the Los Angeles Police Department.

"If anyone knows where he is. Come forward. Please please. That's all I ask," said Sherree's mother Gail Cameron.

Police say D.N.A. evidence linked Luera to Sherree's murder. They say Sherree did not know him.

Detectives say Luera is a transient parolee and has family in Fresno. They believe he could be here or in Mexico.

A $50,000-dollar reward is being offered for his capture.
