Initially the primary focus were students in the "Welfare to Work" program, over time it was discovered that non-welfare students struggled with the cost of obtaining professional clothing for interviews, internships and jobs as well. At that time the opportunity was opened to any business division student in need of professional clothing for the intended purposes noted above.
Over the years Suiting up for Success has received support from several prestigious valley businesses and organizations. However, there is always a need for additional clothing especially in men's extra large and women's plus sizes.
The store was made possible through the efforts of a host of people, most notably Dean Sherian Eckenrod and Sue McCombs of McCombs and Associates, the former Gottschalks and Hodge and Sons and most importantly the Manchester Mall which has provided the program with an excellent site to conduct the stores business.
