Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies were trying to talk Pete Ramirez out of his ex-girlfriend's home when they say he came out shooting at them. Deputies shot back, hitting Ramirez.
Ramirez is wanted in connection with an attempted murder last week in Fresno County. Deputies say they knew he was armed and dangerous when they surrounded the home.
Deputies believe Ramirez is responsible for a shooting last Monday near Clinton and Bond.
One man was seriously hurt in that incident. Ramirez is expected to recover from Tuesday's shootout. No deputies were hurt.
