"It's great to have something like this in Fresno," Springer said. "It's a wonderful facility indoors. And the technology that we're using here is great."
The fully-accredited National University's Golf Academy offers valley residents both Associate's and Bachelor's Degrees with golf emphases. Springer says the recent nationwide recession has spiked his enrollment.
"People in the golf industry love to have people who are well educated in the golf part of it," said Springer. "Being in management skills, becoming a golf professional, becoming a greenskeeper. The concentration in professional golf management has that whole wide variety that it covers."
And with state-of-the-art learning tools it the Golf Academy's disposal, like the MAT system by Taylor Made and the V1 video system, Springer says Fresno could soon become a featured destination for golf-related academia.
"It's kind of centrally located in the state, which is great," said Springer. "So it can reach out to several cities for them to be able to come in and learn about golf."
