It happened around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night near the Fresno-Yosemite International Airport.
Investigators say the officer was on her way to a disturbance call, when she lost control of her vehicle and hit a tree. Officers say they feel fortunate their co-worker wasn't seriously hurt.
"It's just a reminder that what we do is dangerous that the public expects us to get to our calls quickly, but we have to remind our officers to get there safely too," said Lt. Burke Farrah with the Fresno Police Department.
The officer was alone in the car when the crash happened. Fresno Police have not released her identity.
