Wall of Honor dedicated to war veterans

FRESNO, Calif.

A special dedication ceremony for the newest phase of a 'Wall of Honor' was held in front of the VA Hospital in Central Fresno Saturday morning.

235 black granite plaques now pay tribute to men and women from our countries military including fallen Reedley Police Officer Javier Bejar who was a Marine an Iraq War veteran.

The wall includes names of several veterans who are Purple Heart recipients. They said they were honored to see their names up on the wall.

"Oh, I was very proud to see my name up there, it's something I have enjoyed very much and I wish more people would come out and put their names out on it," U.S. Army, Purple Heart Recipient Thomas Edwin Davis said.

Plaques are available to any veteran. The wall features names of soldiers who are alive and those who have given their lives while serving America.
