The Live Like a Champion Tour teaches children that healthy eating and physical activity are key strategies to leading a healthy life. The tour is a 15-week statewide traveling outreach campaign designed to get children moving and empower them to make healthy lifestyle choices now and in the future.
According to the 2009 "F as in Fat" report by Trust for America's Health, nearly one in three children in California 10-17 years of age are either overweight or obese. Encouraging healthy eating and activity routines can help children stay healthy and focused. Sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross of California in partnership with the California Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, Live Like a Champion features interactive games and challenging sports themed activities to help children bring out their "inner champion." Children can also learn what fruits and vegetables their favorite athlete eats and what exercises and activities they participate in to stay healthy.
We invite you to join us at one of our events to learn what Live Like a Champion is doing to encourage children to lead healthy, active lifestyles.
