Driver charged with D.U.I. following chain reaction crash

It happened around 6:30 a.m. on the southbound off ramp to Golden State from Highway 99.

The Highway Patrol says a man driving under the influence crashed his car on the off ramp. That caused the chain reaction crash with three other cars.

Highway Patrol arrested the driver suspected of D.U.I. at the scene. The Golden State off ramp had to be shut down while the Highway Patrol conducted their investigation, but it has since been reopened.
