Bomb hoax in Porterville

The device was found on the fence of a highway overpass at highways 190 and 65 in Porterville.

This is a photo sent in by Action News viewer Deborah Bohman showing the emergency vehicles near the overpass. Porterville police called in Visalia's Bomb Squad to assist in the disposal.

After using a water cannon and robot to neutralize the device it was determined to be fake.

Porterville Police say whoever is responsible for the hoax faces a felony charge.
