Fog delays Fresno drivers but flights on schedule

FRESNO, Calif.

The fog came in thick early on but it didn't stop airlines from getting flights off the ground on time. Airlines reported no delays or cancellations and the lines inside weren't too bad.

One traveler said the fog actually caused him to miss his flight because of the extra time it took to drive to the airport.

Others weren't concerned the fog would cause any flight delays this Christmas eve.

"At Dallas Fort Worth, stuck there for four hours so I'm not worried about delays. If I do get delayed I've got plenty of time," Nolan McCurdy said.

"It was pretty dark. It usually takes me about 30 minutes to get to Fresno but it took us like an hour and 30 minute because it was foggy. I missed my flight, it was at 5:50 and I ended up coming in at 6:30," Hikel Nemi said.

Airlines are recommending you give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport if you're traveling during the holiday weekend.

In downtown Fresno this morning, plenty of travelers boarded Amtrak trains to get to their loved ones.

There were no delays or cancellations Friday morning.
