Kings County deputies raid Christmas Day cockfight

HANFORD, Calif.

Senior deputy Lydia Montoya told the Fresno Bee that after the raid near Hanford on Saturday, the men were booked into Kings County Jail on suspicion of animal cruelty and resisting arrest.

Two of the men were also booked on suspicion of child endangerment.

Montoya says two roosters were dead when deputies arrived, but that animal control officers had to euthanize 102 roosters.

The names of those arrested was not released.
