Employers across the country are expected to hire more permanent workers in 2011 compared to 2010.

According to a new survey by careerbuilder.com -- 24% of employers plan to hire 20% more fulltime employees.

Local staffing companies say in the past three months they have had an increase in available positions.

James Comegys with Central Property Preservation said, "During the great depression many jobs were started because people needed an opportunity that wasn't available, likewise today."

The survey also reports an increase in employers looking for part time, and contract workers.

Sales, information technology and customer service jobs should see the biggest gains.
