The county's animal services director says during the wet winter months, the valley always sees a spike in cases of distemper and the potentially deadly parvo disease.
Valley residents are invited to bring their dogs and cats to a low cost vaccine clinic at the Madera County Fairgrounds on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The shots cost just $6 to $12, depending on the type of vaccine.
