2 in jail after DUI crash in Central Fresno

The Fresno Police Department tells Action News an officers pulled over the driver of a Toyota Corolla a few blocks away on Belmont Ave. for suspicion of DUI. Officers ended up arresting the driver.

That's when they say the female passenger in the Corolla slid into the driver's seat and took off.

Officers say she ended up crashing the car at Augusta and Thomas.

The female driver attempted to run away from the scene but officers caught up with her near the 180 Freeway.
