Fire at Northeast Fresno development destroys garage

The fire happened at a development on Alluvial just west of First Street near Kaiser Permanente Medical Center.

Fire officials say someone passing by the house noticed large flames coming from the garage and called the fire department. No one was inside the house.

Firefighters had to break down the front door and fought the flames from the inside. They contained the fire to the garage. Damage is estimated at $100,000.

Officials are now trying to find out how the fire started.
