Sierra Nevada Conservation groups met with local county officials at the Tulare County Board of Supervisors chambers Wednesday.
The groups are working with National Geographic on developing an interactive geotourism map of the Central Valley region.
They hope the map will boost local economies by enhancing the community's involvement in preserving history.
Central Valley residents can submit an historical point of interest, photo or story to the map which can then be seen by out-of-town visitors.
