Amid protests, Egyptian Museum pieces go missing

At the height of the uprising, while Egyptian police clashed with protesters outside the Egyptian Museum. Officials say looters broke into the museum, destroying two mummies and smashing display cases.

More than a dozen irreplaceable treasures are missing. The most famous piece is a small statue of a goddess holding King Tut and parts of a gilded wood statue of tut holding a weapon.
