Clovis man in jail after 2 hour stand-off

FRESNO, Calif.

Officers went to a home at Filbert Ave. near Armstrong after receiving a tip that a man they'd been searching for was there.

Authorities say the suspect had outstanding felony warrants for weapons charges, so they took a cautious approach.

"Because of the suspect's violent past... they decided to stay outside the home and ask him to come out on his own to turn himself in," Corporal Vince Weibert said.

Police say the man refused to come outside for more than two hours. But he finally turned himself in just after midnight.

Officers also detained two women at the home Friday night and are now investigating their ties to the suspect.
