Fire in central Fresno sent two women to the hospital

The fire started just before 2:00 Friday afternoon at Dakota and Marks, on Saginaw Avenue.

Cell phone video shows flames shooting out of one of the units.

One apartment was nearly destroyed in the fire. Three others received smoke damage.

At one point witnesses say they scrambled to make sure no one was stuck inside.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The two victims were checked for smoke inhalation and are expected to be okay.
