Fresno State students held an unusual protest against budget cuts

FRESNO, Calif.

Students say the arts, women's studies, and double majors are all on the table and they are being struck down by continuous fee hikes and cuts.

They are also worried about cuts to financial aid and being able to afford an increasingly expensive education.

Fresno State students held a carnival of mockery, taking a light hearted approach to protest very serious cuts of $20 million from Fresno State.

Like Fresno State, campuses throughout the Cal State University system held rallies and demonstrations on Wednesday. Several hundred students attended a rally at Cal State Northridge.

Hector Cerda is outraged at the $500 million in cuts Governor Jerry Brown is proposing for the entire CSU system. He says fees should not continue to increase for students and should come from other resources.

Students are calling on trustees to reject another fee hike. Matthew Borra says the prediction of dropped classes from this dart game is already coming true.

Students from all CSU schools are planning to march to Sacramento --March 16th, hoping to convince legislators to strike out cuts to higher education.
