William Green is a coach at San Joaquin Memorial High School. He's also a substitute teacher for Fresno Unified and an instructional aide at Roosevelt High.
William Green had coached basketball San Joaquin Memorial. But the charges against him are not related to his job here or at Fresno Unified. He is in jail, facing six felony charges including rape of a teenager.
Investigators say they received information last Tuesday about allegations William Green had a sexual relationship with a 14 year old. The teenager was a foster child placed in Green's home during the time the crimes are accused of taking place. At this point, investigators say the charges against him do not involve any students where Green worked. So far, only one person has come forward.
Don Gross said, "That's why we are not going to be releasing anymore information. It's because we want to follow up and determine if there are any other victims outstanding, if there are we want to be able to talk to them first before there's any kind of media frenzy following this."
Officials at San Joaquin Memorial did not return phone calls for comment. Fresno Unified administrators say since his arrest, Green has been placed on administrative leave.
District spokeswoman Susan Bedi issued a statement saying quote: "Mr. Green is an instructional aide at Roosevelt High School and was never alone with students in that role. In addition, he was a substitute teacher at several schools beginning in January 2011."
Fresno Police will not reveal any more details about the felony sex charges. Some parents picking up their children at Roosevelt Monday said the claims are disturbing.
Rose Garcia said, "They have security on campus, lockdown gates all around. This is a teacher we're talking about, somebody that's there to give an education to our children, not sex."
Green has not been formally charged. The counts he's being held on are all sex related and very graphic and serious in nature.
