The organic farming industry is the fastest growing sector in agriculture. The College Of Marin teaches students progressive, responsible farming practices including landscape ecology, composting and fertility management. Students also learn the business side of farming such as marketing and certifications.
Marin County has 23 registered organic farmers.

Cotton is looking to be California's cash crop this year.
Cotton prices have increased. It's now going for over $2 a pound.
Western Farm Press reports, 50-percent of the San Joaquin Valley's pima cotton crop has already been sold before the first seed touches dirt.
The California Cotton Growers Association projects 450,000 acres will be grown this year. 300-thousand acres were grown last year.
