Fresno's Forever 21 grand opening is this Saturday

FRESNO, California

Crews spent time putting the finishing touches to the new Forever 21 location before its grand opening this weekend.

The new signs put up Tuesday created a buzz at Fashion Fair Mall, where shoppers checking out clothes and accessories anxiously awaited the opening of the expanded store. The new Forever 21 will not only have clothes for women, but the entire family.

Toddra Hilliard said, "Forever's actually too little so now that I have a kid and there's not enough space in there so them having a bigger one will be more options, more clothes, so it's good."

A sneak peek inside the 150 thousand square foot store and you can see boxes and boxes of clothes being unloaded. Mannequins are up and the store is taking shape.

Jessica Hatibovic said, "I know that the one in Hanford, California is the biggest one in California at the moment, so this one might topple that one being second story and all. Pretty excited."

The Forever 21 expansions have been great news for the economy in the Central Valley. At a three day job fair in January, the company hired close to 300 new employees for the larger Fresno store.

When Forever 21 took over another former Gottschalks store in the Hanford Mall, 100 people were hired for mostly sales positions.

Customers who are regulars at Forever 21 say the trendy styles and affordability keep them coming back.

Hilliard said, "I actually like the tops and I probably like shop here once a week."

The store opens Saturday morning.
