Officials say the victim was driving a Ford Model A similar to this one when he was hit.
His name hasn't been released.
The accident happened on Highway 140 near Cathey's Valley Parkway.
The California Highway Patrol says 35-year-old Celise Brandon and 62-year-old William Ashworth were both driving westbound as they approached the Model A, which was eastbound.
Investigators say Ashworth rear-ended Brandon when she slowed down to make a left turn.
Her vehicle then veered into the eastbound lane, colliding with the Model A.
Its driver was ejected and died.
Brandon suffered minor injuries and was taken to a Mariposa hospital.
