The accident happened shortly after 9:00 a.m. at the southbound connecting ramp from Freeway 41 - to southbound Highway 99.
Witnesses reported seeing the driver come around a curve and then swerve off the road. The driver apparently tried to overcorrect, causing the dump truck to hit a concrete freeway pillar.
Paramedics took the driver to the hospital with minor injuries. The dump truck was carrying sand that spilled all over the roadway and took crews several hours to clean up.
