Free shredding offered by Valley bank

FRESNO, Calif.

How you dispose of important information could save you time and headaches in the future.

The public is invited to come to the Central Valley Community Bank in Fig Garden Tuesday from 9 a.m. until noon to shred receipts and documents from previous years.

The way this works, people can bring their items to shred and watch them get shredded immediately so they will know all their personal information has been discarded in a safe manner.

Shredders are allowed 6 bankers boxes of recycle materials.

According to the IRS you should keep copies of your filed tax returns and tax records for 3 to 7 years, employment tax records for 4 years, and if you do not file a return or you file a fraudulent return you should keep those records indefinitely.
