Police say 23-year-old Omar Diondre Cook robbed an "Advance America" check cashing location at Clinton and Brawley.
Cook is in critical condition at the hospital, police say he ran into an undercover police car and hit his head on the ground as he tried to get away.
A Fresno Police detective says she recognized Cook from surveillance video - they received from other robberies.
A woman, believed to be a getaway driver in Wednesday's robbery, has also been arrested.
