FRESNO, Calif.

Some farmers estimate they'll need to increase their work force by 10-percent.

The Sacramento Bee reports, more irrigation water for west side growers and rising prices for cotton, wheat and nuts are fueling the comeback. Last month, there were one thousand more farm jobs in Fresno County compared to the same time last year.

California's blueberry industry is blooming.

There are 6,000 acres of the fruit growing in the Central Valley. That equals about 30-million pounds berries -- surpassing Florida's production.

Southern Highbush Blueberries are well adapted to California's climate because they can withstand warmer temperatures.
