Visalia is in National Contest for 'Best of Food'

FRESNO, Calif.

The contest is intended to identify the best road trips in America, as defined by those who recommend the small-town destinations.

A short message is required to cast a vote.

Downtown Visalia, said to have more locally owned restaurants per capita than any other city in the country, is entered in the "Best For Food" category.

The vote totals aren't huge, but the opportunity to help Visalia's tourism economy is significant. After the voting concludes, finalists will be chosen. Ultimately, towns may be featured in a nationwide road rally from New York to Los Angeles later this summer, as well as being profiled in a newspaper advertising section.

Voting Ends Tonight
